"The Hamahed lives in the far east basin. He will thrash against coral to snag your line and escape."
Statistics[]
The Hamahed is a Huge fish with a distinctively-shaped head, resembling a real hammerhead shark. It can be a major pest while fishing in the coral basin, as it will quickly snatch up any Small or Medium fish on the line.
Location[]
It is found in the waters east of the Coral Reef, over the coral basin. Like the Tiger Shark, it swims at mid-ocean depths.
Catching Guide[]
The Hamahed is similar in many ways to the Tiger Shark, as it is a fairly simple Huge fish that doesn't require much preparation beyond large bait and the purchase of a huge hook.
You will need:
- A huge hook and (optionally) a Lightbulb.
- Gauge and Improved Crank upgrades (three of each) in Realism mode.
- Luxury Boat or better to reach the coral basin.
In Realism mode it will begin spiralling once hooked, trying to drag the lure down. Moving your boat west and bringing the Hamahed into the deeper water west of the reef can help prevent it from snagging the line on the seabed, but the Hamahed rarely descends into full darkness for long.
