How to Catch a Moga - Cat Goes Fishing- Caverns and Coral

As with other Huge fish, a huge hook and large bait are required to catch the Moga. Since it will flee from a Lightbulb, the sonar is extremely useful in locating it.

The Moga is one of the harder fish to catch on Realism mode, thanks to its persistence, high stamina and aversion to light. This last point requires it to be caught during the night or during a storm, otherwise it can never be reeled into the boat as it will constantly drag the line down as soon as it leaves the depths. This means that the player will have to track their line tension through the audio cues, or using deep sonar if they have it.

You will need:

  • At least three Gauge and Improved Crank rod upgrades.
  • A huge hook.
  • Sonar or (ideally) deep sonar, to track the Moga's movements and time your reeling with its movements.
